1.Bell Peppers- Again, like peaches, bell peppers have think skin that may not provide enough of a barrier for chemicals to leech through.

2.Celery- If you think you had it bad with bell peppers, the celery situation is worse! Celery have no protective barriers at all, so you could be directly ingesting pesticides if you opt for the non organic variety!

3.Strawberries- The availability of strawberries when they are not in season usually means they came from other countries that may not have as strict policies as ours regarding the se of pesticides. SO play it safe and buy only organic!

4.Lettuce- lettuce, too have no protection, so it is of utmost importance that we get our lettuce pesticide free as we usually ingest them raw.

5.Grapes are another fruit that have really thin skin. Chemicals can easily go into the membrane and washing will do no good. Organic grapes are everyone’s best option!

Little Ways to Save the World

1.Why not try to work from home? Ask your employer if there could be a possible arrangement for you to work from home some days during the week. This can save you fuel, and save the company some energy expenses too!

2.In the cold seasons, always remember to keep your fireplace damper closed. Doing so will mean you use up less heat to warm the room up.

3. Cut back on junk mail- Say no to receiving those catalogues and pamphlets when you no you won’t really use them. Don’t subscribe to them just because!

4. Matches over lighters- matches are made up of recyclable material, while lighters are mostly made out of plastic. It’s better to use matches. Also, remember to choose cardboard matches over wood ones!

5.Do you really still use your paper phonebook? If you find that the telephone numbers that you need can be accessed online, tell your phone company to stop giving you a paper phone book an use the online version instead.

Simple Ways to Help Part 3

1.    Use both sides of the paper. Teach kids to always use both sides!
2.    Recycling your newspaper can add up and can save about half a million trees per week!
3.    Reuse gift bags, wrapping paper, old maps, old cloth and utilize these as creative wrapping solutions.
4.Say No to bottled water!- Only 10% of these bottles are recycled, the 90% clog our landfills Jus use a reusable container instead.
5.Once a month have a no bath week, and just take showers instead. You will literally save barrels of water!

1.Aim to have your city join the cool city list of the US. Cool cities help prevent global warming by passing creative and innovative laws on transportation and legislation that aims to save up on energy.

2.Write to your congressman and encourage them to support the laws that limit carbon dioxide emissions.

3.Use email instead of paper for announcements, invites and for generally disseminating information.

4.Share this list with co-workers, family and friends!

Fighting Global Warming Part 3

1.Select products that come with little packaging and have the option to be refillable.

2.Always reuse shopping bags.

3.Invest in reusable lunch boxes, water bottles and things like these to reduce waste.

4.When you can, plant a tree, or as many plants as you can in the garden.

5.If available in your area, switch to green energy or power

As weird as it may sound, scoring free stuff is actually green. How? Well getting free stuff through borrowing, or just asking for something prevents you from buying.

If everyone subscribed to this formula, there would be a lesser need to produce new things and there would be less resources utilized and wasted!

If you look hard enough, you’ll find that there is actually a ton of free stuff waiting for you to take! Extremist groups, like the freegans actually get free food from the perfectly edible stuff that many groceries dump out.

1. Have your kids carpool- they’ll not only save gas, they’ll make new friends too! Plus, it means less stress for you when days when you don’t have to pick them up!
2. Take public transportation when you can- If it’s too much of a stretch to do this everyday, take it on your less stressful day of the week. You taking public transportation mean done less car on the street.
3. Think of alternative family activities instead of tv and video games- Why not play in the park or ride bikes instead. This doesn’t consume any energy and could be a nice change.
4. Finish your food- Don’t cook too much and don’t shop too much and finish what you have on your plate!
5. Buy local, and support local farmers. So much energy is used on transporting goods from one place to another. We can prevent that energy usage by supporting local.
