Organic Gardening

To make sure that some of the vegetables that we eat are actually organic, why don’t we try growing them organically by ourselves.

Here are some tips for anyone looking to try organic gardening!

Protect your plants from chemical pesticides by employing things like barriers, row covers, netting, sticky traps and these things called plant collars. Some natural pesticides that you may also want to incorporat into your garden would be some ladybugs and some preying mantids. If you keep a bird dish, or a water bowl in your garden, this will surely attract birds who will also eat their share of harmful insects!

Neem extract is a form of non toxic insecticide that you can use, if you’re hesitant about introducing new insects and animals in your garden. A good tip is to remember to read labels of natural pesticides to make sure they match with the plant you want to protect and the insects you want to protect your plant against.
